PRISTINE NATIVO PERU DARK 71%

The Original

In 2020 the most pure Gran Nativo Blanco cacao beans were rediscovered in an 80 year old cacao forest deep in the Yahuanduz area of Peru. What makes this bar extraordinary is that the harvest yields 90% white beans. A sign that this cacaobean is one of the purest Piura Blanco beans in existence.

Availability of this cacao is very limited: only one micro batch of 1 ton per year is grown. The isolated location of the trees makes sure that the cacao does not gets contaminated with commercial hybrids that are grown on plantations. The cacao contains hardly any bitterness and has a very light color.

TASTING NOTES

Notes of plums, berries and raisins. In the aroma the bouche we find lovely notes of flowers, like violets. The after taste is delicate with notes of walnuts.

LOMA LARGA FARMERS

This special cacao comes from three cacao growers, whose ancestors found water in the foothills of the higher part of the dry forest of the Adanjo Community. This small spring is enough to cultivate 1 Ha diverse cacao forest by each of the three farmers.

Gregoria Chanta, Marcos Julca and Eradio Zurita have to go up the dry and sandy path for more than one hour from their farms to reach the cacao of Yahuanduz. From there the fresh cacao gets transported to the central processing center of Loma Larga. There are the beans dried and fermented under guidance of the Norandino Cooperative.

ONE BAR FOR NOW, ONE BAR FOR LATER

Each Heinde & Verre box contains 2 bars, one bar for now, one for later. At Heinde & Verre we take chocolate and your enjoyment very serious. Quality chocolate needs to be protected so we have developed the perfect packaging to preserve all the natural flavours. A kraft pouch protects against light, humidity, dust and dirt. A double air tight seal protects against odours. We have extracted part of the air to reduce oxidisation and moisture.
